Wir freuen uns sehr seit dem 01. Mai 2024 Sandra Alhaddad als neues Mitglied in unserem Team begrüßen zu dürfen!

Let’s start from the beginning, Sandra could you introduce yourself and tell us how you came to be part of Living Mainframe?

Hello, my name is Sandra, and I am a software developer passionate about technology and AI stuff that are evolving rapidly. Aside from this, I enjoy reading, exploring new places, and cooking!

My journey at Living Mainframe began when I was searching for a master’s thesis that aligned with my interests. The software center where the company is located took part during an exhibition in the university, where I submitted my details. This interaction led to them reaching out with an interesting proposal for my master’s thesis.

Could you share what did you do before joining Living Mainframe?

My academic and professional journey before joining Living Mainframe was diverse and centered around technology. Initially I got my first master’s degree, in Web Development from the Lebanese University in Lebanon, where I completed my master thesis in artificial intelligence focusing particularly on deep learning. Following my graduation, I gained practical experience working as a COBOL developer for two and a half years at Sopra Banking Software, a banking solution company. This role provided me with some knowledge in dealing with legacy systems.

Following this I pursued a second master’s degree in software technology at HFT Stuttgart. My thesis project involved using AI to automate the generation of COBOL documentation. I completed this thesis by the end of April 2024.

Immediately after completing my thesis, I transitioned to a full-time position at Living Mainframe, starting in May 2024.

What motivated you to join Living Mainframe?

It was a several factors. Initially, it was the combination of AI and COBOL that caught my attention. I mean the opportunity to apply advanced technologies to traditional systems which presented a unique challenge, especially given my experience with both technologies.

Additionally, the positive work environment and supportive colleagues at Living Mainframe were significant to my decision. It seemed like a place where I can grow and contribute meaningfully.

What aspects of your new role excite you the most?

I’m enthusiastic about further exploring the integration of AI with older computing systems like mainframes. There’s a lot of potential in this area for innovation.

Liebe Sandra, willkommen im Team! Wir freuen uns darauf, gemeinsam unsere KI-Projekte zu entwickeln!
